What a door-to-door journey costs, how the price is worked out, what is included and what is not, with real figures from London to Paris, Berlin and Rome.

The honest answer is that it depends on the distance, and very little else. A dedicated car driven door to door costs roughly the same whether it carries one small cat or two large dogs, because what you are paying for is the car, the driver, the fuel, the tolls and the crossing, for the whole journey there and back.
As of September 2026 our price is £150 to set off, then £1.55 for every kilometre of the road journey, and £1.15 a kilometre beyond 800 km, so a long drive is not priced as a string of short ones. The least a journey costs is £400. The Channel crossing is included, for the car and for every pet: nothing is added for it.
Two pets are included in the price. A third, fourth or fifth from the same household adds £85 each. If you would like more room, the Comfort car adds £90 and the Plus car, a large people carrier, £180.
One dog, a weekday, the Standard car, door to door:
The pricing page has a calculator that works the price out in exactly the same way, and the quote form prices your two actual addresses.
The Animal Health Certificate is issued by your own vet and paid to them; the fee varies from practice to practice, so ask when you book the appointment. A travel crate is extra if you would rather not use your own. Weekend and peak-season dates can add a surcharge, and the quote shows it as its own line if they do.
A price well below these usually means a shared van collecting several families’ animals on a route that suits the van, which can mean a day or two longer on the road. That is a legitimate service and suits some animals. It is simply not the same thing as a car of your own that leaves when you choose and goes straight there.
