Cat transport

Cats travel in a covered carrier in a quiet, climate-controlled car, never alongside dogs from another home, with the same driver the whole way.

We reply within 10 minutes, 8am to 8pm.

A cat wants two things on a long drive: quiet and cover. The carrier is covered with a light cloth so the motorway goes by unseen, the car is kept cool and calm, and because we only ever carry one household’s animals there is never a strange dog barking in the next crate. At every stop we offer water and a litter tray without opening the car doors wide.

Before the journey

  • A microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination
  • A rabies vaccination at least 21 days before travel, kept in date
  • For journeys into the EU, an Animal Health Certificate issued by an official vet in the 10 days before departure (an EU pet passport counts only if issued in the EU to someone who lives there)
  • No tapeworm treatment: it applies to dogs only

Two cats, or a cat and a dog

Animals from the same home travel together in the same car, each in its own carrier. If your cat and your dog get on at home, they will be fine on the road; if they do not, tell us and we will keep the carriers apart.
